ALP 26.1%
Incumbent MP
Annastacia Palaszczuk, since 2006.
Geography
South-East Queensland. Inala covers southwestern parts of the City of Brisbane and parts of Ipswich LGA. Inala covers the suburbs of Durack, Richlands, Inala, Carole Park, Camira and parts of Darra, Forest Lake and Springfield.
History
The seat of Inala has existed since 1992, and in that time it has always been held by the ALP, being held successively by two members of the same family.
Henry Palaszczuk won the seat in 1992. He served as a minister from 1998 to 2006, when he retired.
Annastacia Palaszczuk won the seat in 2006, and was re-elected in 2009, 2012 and 2015.
Palaszczuk served as a minister from 2009 to 2012. The Labor Party suffered a devastating loss in 2012, and Palaszczuk was one of only seven surviving MPs. Palaszczuk was elected as Labor leader following the 2012 election, and led the party to victory at the 2015 election, taking on the role of Premier since that election. Palaszczuk led Labor to a second term in government in 2017.

Has Palaszczuk managed to transform herself from a govt asset, to liability ?. Events of the past 24 hours would indicate a problem. Claiming that the PM was attempting “to bully me”, was a very poor move. Just looks absolutely gutless & pissweak. Compounded by hiding behind “rules” & that cold bureaucrat Dr whatshername. A very bad look.
Look all I can say is…
Prediction (August 2020): ALP Retain
Miljenka Perovic has the unenviable task of challenging the Premier for the LNP in Inala.
It almost seems unimaginable, but I think Annastacia’s margin will probably get even more imposing after this election.
In last two days the ALP posters have shown Palaszczuk beaming with her candidates, ALP internal polling must think she is a vote winner for candidates otherwise they would have hidden her. Miljenka Perovic does have a difficult task. He/She must be committed to the cause to stand against an ALP candidate in Inala with a 68% primary vote and an 11% Greens safety margin. He/ She will undoubtedly be the lowest achieving LNP candidate but this in not way reflects performance. PRP I agree Palaszczuk will gain votes in 2020.
@Andrew Jackson,,, Your could put a picture of a frog with and ALP Banner and it would win this seat in parliament. It was the reason that Anastasia become leader of the opposition after the Bligh wipeout.
ALP retain no matter who stands man woman or beast
Prediction: ALP Retain
The incumbent Premier will face no problems whatsoever in her own seat
ALP retain
What was the fuss with the LNP candidate and her supporters heckling the Premier shouting at her to open the borders (to greater Sydney and Victoria) today? Freudian slip? What a bully, I don’t think she got Deb’s memo that she would be listening to the health advice and not opening the border to greater Sydney and Victoria.
I’ve heard from a friend who volunteered for the LNP that the claims that Deb wants to keep the borders closed and has agreed with Labor on it all is a lie they’ve been telling in order to not lose votes, and they want to replace Jeannette Young if they are elected.
